Oh, 2020. The year that felt like a decade. Those of us on the Virtuoso Life team found ourselves at home way more than usual, but somehow, we still fell even more in love with travel. While really leaning into baking and reading every book at sight, we also spent a lot of time reflecting on the notion that travel is about way more than just the trip. It’s about the excitement of planning, the experience itself, and the memories we make – memories that only grow more valuable over time. It helped a lot to remember that this year. When Virtuoso asked about sustainable travel in a survey last month, 82 percent of participants said the pandemic has made them want to travel more responsibly in the future. We’re excited for what we’re calling a conscious comeback, especially after spending the past few days celebrating Earth Week. Earth Day, recognized every year on April 22, is dedicated to driving positive action for our planet – and we believe travel can and should do just that.
